It was New Year’s Eve 2025, just before sunset and my wife and I were driving home along the coast. On an impulse, I turned down a small, half-hidden road, hoping to find the water’s edge. I got lucky, the road led straight to this old pier. The sky was catching fire, so I grabbed my camera and walked to the water’s edge.
The sky was full of very high clouds and a misty glow that cast a heavenly color. The sunset kept getting more and more striking. I looked over at my wife standing by the car, completely entranced by the dazzling colors.
I must have taken a hundred photos in the few minutes before dark. This is the one that really caught my eye. I was going to call this “The Glorious End” – a fitting send-off for 2025. But my wife pointed out that this wasn’t an ending at all, rather it was the start of 2026! She said to call it, “A new Beginning.”
That gave me an idea. Actually, every day is a new beginning, so why do I only make life changing resolutions once a year? We should make new year’s resolutions every day! I eagerly shared this idea with my wife. She gave me one of those looks and pointed out that I had never stuck to any of my new year resolutions, so why bother with daily ones?
