After studying art in high school, in college, and working as an artist for years, I’m still humbled by Mother Nature – the way she puts together the most stunning colors, textures, and compositions without even trying. This flower is a perfect example. I don’t know if it’s a sin to envy Mother Nature, but I’ve got a long way to go as an artist to catch up with her sense of visual harmony. That’s the nice thing about photography, though – I don’t have to compete with her, I just borrow stuff.
